When do we look for our first job as software engineers some questions might pop up like - How will my week look like? What will be the most challenging parts?

I was in this situation one year ago, and I want to tell you how it was my onboarding into the professional world.

This post has in mind all the future junior software engineers.

I will describe what it has been like and how it is now, and try to give some tips on the way based on the challenges I faced 💪

What to do if you don't feel heard at work

86%

That is the number of people who don't feel heard fairly or equally at their organisation.

And nearly half (47%) claim that underrepresented voices remain undervalued by their employers, according to global research conducted by The Workforce Institute at UKG in 2021.

Many engineers feel they don't have room to share their ideas and opinions. Are you one of them?

How often do you feel your perspective is taken into account? And is this as often as you’d like?

Code mods in JavaScript and how to get started creating your own

With the ever-changing landscape in web development, code is forever needing to be updated, whether that be due to updates in frameworks and libraries or new features supported in browsers. Manually dealing with all these updates can often be very error prone and time consuming and that is where code mods/refactoring tools come in. Code mods are scripts that can be run on existing code, templates, styles (pretty much anything with the correct parser and compiler) in order to identify a pattern and then update the code to a new one.
